People swear they saw the Grim Reaper at the Coronation

The Grim Reaper is a mythical personification of death in many cultures and folklore

The Grim Reaper, the personification of death, was spotted at the coronation of King Charles III, according to people on Twitter. People who had been watching the major event rushed to Twitter to share pictures of a mysterious hooded figure with 'scythe', dubbed the 'Grim Reaper'.

Joe Green shared a clip from the ceremony where a figure walked by the doors of Westminster Abbey wearing the character's iconic dark robes and an item giving a similar appearance to a scythe.

Since sharing the spooky clip, Joe's video has raked in over 225,000 views to date. Alongside the video footage, he asked Twitter users: "Anyone else just notice the Grim Reaper at Westminster Abbey #Coronation?"

One person claimed they also spotted the figure as they wrote: "Thanks. Thought I was going mad."

A second said: "Yes! I thought it was a witch!"

"I saw him too!" A third Twitter user penned alongside four laughing emojis.

A confused fan couldn't believe their eyes and questioned: "Did someone just edit this in or was that actually someone walking past?"

The Grim Reaper is a mythical personification of death in many cultures and folklore. Often depicted as a skeletal figure cloaked in a black robe and carrying a scythe, the Grim Reaper is said to be responsible for collecting the souls of the deceased and guiding them to the afterlife.

The concept of the Grim Reaper has been deeply ingrained in various mythologies, religious beliefs, and artistic representations throughout history. It is often associated with mortality, the inevitability of death, and the idea that death is a universal and impartial force.

The Brits (and Scots) embrace this kind of superstitious hokum. It’s part of their charm.

That was a weird video. One guard member glanced that way, but apparently thought the “reaper” was normal and didn’t question it’s presence.

Seriously, why would the Reaper NOT be there?

A serious reminder of everyone’s mortality, showing up at the coronation of the longest lived monarch of the largest empire in modern history?

As many Brits are wont to say:

ARE YOU DAFT?

Well they do supposedly have the ghost of a Benedictine monk that haunts the Abbey, and that sure is what that looks like… except he seems awfully solid for a specter.

There's probably no more superstitious bunch on the planet than the Irish, my ancestral people. They believe in all kinds of ghosts, and spirits , the Banshee and all manner of things that go bump in the night.

Every single time I see an owl something g terrible happens.
Snow owl in August, watched two biker grinds run down by drunken next day.
Several others through the years and dogs died.
Owl goes into the side of my car, house fire two days later and not one forensic inspector knows *why*.
Saw same owl twice in one week, husband dies week and a half later.
I fear them more than any other critter
