Whatever Americans may - with justification - think of the idea of monarchy, I ask them to consider that what we are about to witness is a Christian service of great antiquity where a man will dedicated himself to the service of God, and to the service of his country - indeed of many countries.
This type of thing is a rarity in the modern world.
I set my alarm to witness history. I’ll probably out live Charles but in case I don’t, I wanted to watch. When Prince William becomes King, I hope folks tune in because it could be the only coronation the younger people will ever see.
“a man will dedicate himself to the service of God”
I watched a little of it, and it was very lovely. What is amazing is the history behind it. Praying that Charles and Camilla will give their hearts to Christ, abandon the environment nonsense and be of true service to God’s glory. It made me think of the day we are before the throne of the King of Kings.
Oh, and the lady with the feather in her hat, blocking Prince Harry, lol! That was no coincidence! Love it!
I watched it and you hit it on the head. What was remarkable was watching a Muslim, a Jew, a seikh, and a Hindu bow and kneel in front of the Bible. God uses imperfection to perfectly illustrate His kingdom and in this case we witnessed the truism that every knee shall bow at the name of Jesus.
My mother was born and raised in Manchester and came to the US in 1950 to marry my father. We then moved to England in 1957 when my dad was stationed outside London (Northolt). We were there for 5 yrs and I watched Princess Margaret’s marriage to Anthony Snowden in 1960 on the telly. I’ve always been an Anglophile and I watched this momentous occasion today. Nobody does pageantry like the English.
