Then they should triple the number of tags. The only thing that argues against an expanded season/ bag limit is that so many Florida yahoos can’t tell the alligators from the endangered American Crocodile. Expanded seasons in areas where the croc isn’t known could get numbers under better control. If I know Florida rednecks, this is far from an isolated incident.

The range for American Crocodiles in FL is pretty small, which leaves all the rest of FL to hunt alligators, but Am. Crocs have quite a bit of range beyond the Sunshine State.

I’m originally from FL. The crocodiles mainly live in the southern end of the state near Miami. They hang out in the area around the Turkey Creek nuclear plant t where the water stays warm in the winter.

When I was a kid there was a total ban on killing gators because their numbers had shrunk but after 30 years or so of the ban they ballooned into the nuisance range where they are today. I’m sure people poach them all the time.

One vermin or another vermin, what's the difference? They fill the same ecological niche and if they get big enough, either will eat your @$$.
