This is nothing new. Men and women, on average over large groups, have always tended to make different choices, including striking different work/life balances.
There are now more varieties of feminism than Heinz has ketchups. The radical feminists went off the rails when they moved beyond seeking equal rights and the removal of barriers to entry. They began to define men as the enemy, dismiss and often stigmatize children and family, normalize promiscuity, and enshrine androgeny as the ideal.
A whole generation of young women has been sold a pack of lies. Women are beginning to catch on and push back. Being a good worker drone so that you can take expensive vacations, dine at expensive restaurants, and dress expensively as you wander through a solitary and childless life is not a fulfilling path for most women. Or most men.
Very astute observations.
