One of the reasons the Mongol horde managed to be so successful was that they were one of the first ethnic groups to develop lactose tolerance (tolerance, not in-tolerance) on a large scale. In a time when most of the world couldn't, they could digest and derive nourishment from milk.

So what's that got to do with invading Europe? They mostly rode mares. Their supply trains were considerably less burdensome because their warriors rode 4-legged milk trucks into battle.

Didn’t know that but did know their mobility was their greatest asset and no one else could match it.

Even the Turks, who were close usually lost to them.
