Imagine having a fight with those from the party of cut and run.
SCOTUS could end this crap immediately if they had the guts. Just declare states like NY, Washington, Illinois, etc to have shown bad faith in attempting to deny Americans their constitutional rights and that therefore from now on they will need to get pre clearance to pass any gun laws or regulations.
This is exactly what SCOTUS did when they held that Southern states were denying Americans their constitutional rights with laws passed in bad faith that they knew violated the constitution. Do the same to the gun grabbing states. That will send a message everybody will understand loud and clear.

This is in spite of the constitution an the efforts of Alan Gottlieb.

No because strangling Democrat party flunkies with a garrotte is frowned on by the general public!
Nonetheless, this is a very positive indicator for RKBA. If we can get Trump back in the White House in 2024 (and get his head out of his ass on 2A), I don't see that even repealing the Hughes Amendment is out of reach.
It's been 89 years since the NFA was made law. Today there are some 250,000 fully-automatic weapons in private ownership in America. In those 89 years there have been exactly two homicides committed with lawfully-possessed machine guns, and in both cases the perpetrator was a policeman. In one case he was using a service weapon, and the other was the LEO's own gun. So over 89 years, exactly one full-auto weapon out of the quarter million in private ownership was used in a homicide.
And who knows how many tens of thousands of binary triggers have been sold, and they are completely unrestricted an unaccountable, and I have yet to hear of even one of them being used in a crime of any sort. All the Hughes Amendment does is jack up the price of what few are transferable
