And guy “snapping” at his wife some time ago is suddenly “news” ... Why?

I watched this video, and there is no context. None. It is a three minute snippet of video.
We have little idea what went on in the five minutes, hours, or days leading up to this video with respect to their interactions. But we hear plenty of opinion from “her family” and “her friends” that he was abusive. Gee. Really. That sounds completely definitive to me.
I don’t know Steven Crowder personally, I know nothing about him apart from listening to him which I enjoy.
But I know that 99% of the people with an opinion on this, including me, would be considered beasts or jerks if someone were allowed to pluck 3 min of video from any point in our private lives, which something like a surveillance system such as ring may allow you to do.
I have had plenty of times I wish I hadn’t said something or acted a certain way because it was clearly wrong and even disrespectful. If I have the opportunity, I alway try to make a real, meaningful, and respectful apology. Always.
But the stream of life moves fast, and sometimes that opportunity does not present itself. And you can only regret and vow to do better in the future.
In this case, people see him speaking (with no context) in a disrespectful manner to a 8 months pregnant woman. Sure. No man should ever speak disrespectfully to a woman, much less a visibly preganant one.
But it isn’t as if a woman (especially an 8 months pregnant woman) never said mean or disrepectful things to a man, or was verbally abusive to a man.
Emotional abuse goes both ways, and just because someone is the subject of what they term “emotional abuse” in a chosen 3 minute video, does not mean she isn’t guilty of inflicting it as well. His comment about having “a boot on his neck” in that marriage may have meaning. But we don’t see that, do we. All we see is a healthy man inflicting undeserved emotional abuse on a vulnerable pregnant woman.
She is eight months pregnant, but I get the distinct impression she isn’t a saint either. They were a married couple, and marriage is not always a bed of roses without thorns.
And a three minute clip chosen by someone to make a point shouldn’t always define someone without proper context.
Especially in a marital spat.
