If Tucker was being paid for the remainder of his contract, and had no non-disclosure or non-compete restrictions, then why would he take any legal action against Fox News over his termination/resignation, whatever the official reason for him no longer being at Fox News is?

Sounds like something doesn’t add up here.

I read somewhere that he has three years remaining on a contract that pays him $20 million per year, and that he will get paid out for the remainder of the contract.

One explanation for legal proceedings that makes sense in this scenario is that Carlson might have to stay off the air entirely for the next three years while he collects his $60M. He may be looking for legal avenues to buy out the contract so he can get paid more than $20M/year to work for someone else immediately.
