It’s lightly SNOWING on me, today. High of only 35 degrees.
Uncle!

We’re getting the weather starting tonight.
I got another row of onions in and fertilized the asparagus.
My garlic is already 8-9 inches tall, (and that was BEFORE fertilizing them) and for the first time growing them gave them a side dressing of fertilizer. We’ll see how they do this year but I do not recall ever seeing them this big this early.
My oregano and sage weathered the winter just fine and are greening up very nicely. Looks like the parsley didn’t do so well, but I started more. I priced herbs are Lowe’s the other day. I must have hundreds of dollars of herb started.
I’m going to be putting in more onions this afternoon. They’ll be getting a good drink the next few days.
I’m going to try to get a few romaine plants in so hopefully will get an early crop. The weather is going to be mid 50’s. Not great, but no mention of frost either, so that’s good.
Thursday & yesterday (bright sun) we had highs of 89 - hot! This afternoon, by 1:00, we have a front coming through that could mean severe weather (big winds, heavy downpours, maybe a tornado risk to the SE). The temps overnight for Sunday & Monday are forecast to be low 40’s (were high 30’s). My tomato & pepper plants will be riding out the storm(s) with me in the living room! I plan on holding them out of the garden until Tuesday or Wednesday when the overnight temps will be warmer.
