It’s a judgment call. He’s not done cleaning up Florida. On the other hand, some competition from the right would help to flush out what Trump really believes and help Trump to perfect his message.

That would suit me just fine. In fact, over the last couple of months I have been forming the opinion that Trump as POTUS in 2024 would be preferable -- The Donald can handle the the total firestorm that would ensue for the next four years, and then Mr. DeSantis can take the helm in 2028 and finish the job with his less bombastic, more administrative approach.

Donald Trump appears primed and ready for the fight he knows that's ahead, so let him fight it. I will stand with him every inch of the way, as I always have. I look forward to seeing Deep State heads piled up like fruit on the steps of the Capitol, starting on day 1.

And in the meanwhile, Florida will continue to be run by the most conservative, most effective governorship currently in existence. I can certainly live with that.

As for DeSantis being a Ted Cruz redux, that's not happening. Which the fullness of time will prove.
