A content designer has claimed that he was fired after posting criticism of drag shows for children as young as two on a social media account.

The ex-employee of the Mountain View-based tax software company Intuit alleges he was illegally fired for Instagram posts criticizing drag queen events for children.

A lawsuit filed on Thursday in San Francisco Superior Court, reviewed by news website SFGATE, alleges that Brian Gilton, 37, was fired by the tech company days after he posted two scathing screeds about children attending 'drag shows'.

Gilton, described in the lawsuit as 'a passionate 37-year old white male,' alleges that he was terminated from the role 'because of his participation in political activity, including political speech' and that Intuit violated California labor laws as a result.

In June 2022, Gilton posted two separate messages about cultural 'pendulum swings' in drag performances. The suit alleges that both posts were shared 'during non-working hours away from the employer's premises'.

'We've got 2-year-old babies at drag shows, and contemporary leftists are cheering it on to prove how "progressive" they are – "progressive" at all costs,' Gilton wrote in one Instagram post published on June 14, 2022.

In the post he compared drag shows to strip club performances but he also wrote that homosexuality is 'not wrong'.

The post read: '… These deeply, deeply lost leftists who are cheering on drag queen hour for 3-year-olds are lost in a planet-sized collective reaction to 40-year-old cultural conservatism.'

Most of the drag performances for children are 'story hours' in which queens read at libraries and other child-friendly public spaces.

Bookstores and Amazon can supply books.. Time to close libraries down.
