The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days. If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!
I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hal’s Helper below.
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.
HAL'S CRYPTOGRAM HELPER
One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clu
Have Fun with today’s cryptogram and have a TERRIFIC TUESDAY.
My way or the highway.
GJ G IML M JCYZWP JYP WKWPR AGHW G AIYSVIA YJ RYS ... G DYSCL ZMCX AIPYSVI HR VMPLWQ JYPWKWP. — MCJPWL AWQQROYQ
Solution to previous puzzle (select the yellow text with your cursor to read):
IF I HAD A FLOWER FOR EVERY TIME I THOUGHT OF YOU ... I COULD WALK THROUGH MY GARDEN FOREVER. — ALFRED TENNYSON
HAL'S CRYPTOGRAM HELPER
Not minimize anyone’s accomplishments, but this one is almost automatic. Just typing once you get the familiar second word. One recognizes patterns after a while. (The cryptograph’s job is to remove recognizable patterns.)
Whay hao I got it
Yep. That second word is the way in... but I don’t mind it not being too hard. LOL!
Not too sure what he means by this.
Easiest one ever !
Second word for sure !
You asked about what the author means by this.
This author was also the writer of a popular ScFi book. In that book the author wrote: “ All governments suffer a recurring problem: Power attracts pathological personalities. It is not that power corrupts but that it is magnetic to the corruptible. Such people have a tendency to become drunk on violence, a condition to which they are quickly addicted.”
I also like the way Computer guy interpreted the quote….
“ My way or the highway.”

Way to go Peter ODonnell. The puzzles are fun to do, aren’t they? Would you like to be added to our daily ping list?
Perfect example, Baldwin.
Thank you for that! Great insight.
Good clue !!
