These pictures are making some pretty big assumptions about the type and number of folds - I would argue that they had fewere folds with more mass - but the greater number of folds provides for greater connectivity between cells and more computing power.

I've not heard of any animal that has more grey matter by volume. or how you put it more computing power with less grey matter.
