UKR is an independent territory operating under an assumed governing body.
Other Soviet states have defined their borders, developed a governing document and held a referendum to claim their sovereignty as a nation.
Which the authoritative bodies have recognized.
UKR has accomplished none of these; borders are still in dispute, the people are held captive under a \forced\ governing group, they have never held a referendum on sovereignty and their sovereignty as a nation has never been acknowledged.
Compare this to Czechoslovakia after 1991.
This is all by design so the Western countries can use UKR as a buffer, of sorts, in a “cold war” against RUS.
It is spy-central for the West (Nuland, Vindman) where the “gamesmanship” runs amuck.

Recall that Vindman, who voiced some form of loyalty to his family homeland, was offered the Secretary of Defense for UKR but turned it down to stay a military attaché (government functionary).
Why turn that down while Trump was in “power” over him?
Look at today and the “war”.
Do we hear any statements from the “Ukraine Secretary of Defense”?

Lots of ink has been spilled regarding UKR and NATO.
Why hasn’t Ukraine been absorbed into NATO while others (Finland, etc.) have?
Well, for one, Finland isn’t a sovereign nation.
