As Warner Bros. embraces a new reboot for Harry Potter, a new rumor may indicate a game-changing casting choice for one of its lead stars.
Warner Bros. and Max (formerly HBO Max) surprised everyone when it officially announced that a Harry Potter series was in development, complete with an entirely new cast and a ten-year plan to more faithfully adapt the books.
This announcement led to mixed reactions from diehard fans, especially after The Wizarding World's controversial creator J.K. Rowling was reportedly on board with the reboot.

I couldn't care less about Harry Potter. Don't know about the books, but after watching almost two of the movies, figured the were for male teens and possibly early twenties. They were just nonsense like many of the recent Super Hero movies. I enjoyed "Man of Steel" reboot (Superman fan), "Batman Begins" reboot, and "Wonder Woman"
Give me a suspenseful mystery with an interesting story, good acting, good direction, a trick ending, and not too much CGI anytime.

HP encouraged a lot of kids to read with interesting stories and likable characters. What’s wrong with that?

When a black is mad, he’s black
When a white is mad, he’s red
When a black is envious, he’s black
When a white is envious. He’s green
When a black is scared, he’s black
When a white is scared, he’s whiter...
Now, who’s the colored one?

Of course they should be replacing characters with black actors. There’s just not enough black people visible outside of all TV commercials and print ads

Disappointed to hear that Rowling bought into this nonsense. I suspect she’s quite wealthy (estimated to be around $1 billion), so it can’t be money, can it??

Groan! The left progressive wokesters have to ruin everything!!! Next they’ll be on to other favorites like Nancy Drew, the Narnia characters, Winnie the Pooh, and so on. Wish they’d just go find an island away from all of us and destroy themselves quietly. But noooo, they require lots of drama and publicity and shouting and violence. They’re more like the modern version of the gang in Clockwork Orange or the evil children in Lord of the Flies!!!!

I don't understand why they want to change the originals of something. The last John Williams score that they added some actors and scenery is only a decade old and the CGI is no doubt still convincing. Why remake it at all?
The should remake "Roots", but with an all Irish cast.

I've seen commercials with colored people in them which simply don't fit the script. here are venues where they don't fit and easy to tell when they’re simply inserted into movies or venues most of the Time. Why not create sets and movies etc. depicting their own kinds lifestyles and culture where they might enjoy better. I think the same for hispanics and asians.

Zero imagination in Hollywood anymore. Just take a popular movie, hire a "diverse" set of replacement actors and re-make the movie. Most of these remakes have been giant flops. There are plenty of good story lines that can be implemented with actors who match the expected geographical/ethnic make-up of the story. Nobody buys a Nordic ice princess played by a black female. Likewise, casting a pasty Scot as an African tribal chief is a non-starter.
I enjoyed the hell out of "Coming To America". It was funny from start to finish. I did not feel the same about "Black Panther". It was fantasy BS. The sequel to "Coming To America" wasn't as good as the original, but there was some reasonable continuity to the characters and experiences from the first one.

I never understand why it’s considered an insult to say “colored people”, but it’s considered ok to say “people of color”.
It's all part of the never-ending goal of controlling people through conflict. You constantly create new language and rules and then say that anyone who doesn't follow them is a nazi and can be beaten in the street by your henchmen. If everybody acquiesces to the new standard, you scrap it and create something different and the cycle begins again.
The idea is that if you kick a man down enough, eventually he'll lose the courage or will to resist anything you ask.

The play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child already has a POC wife and daughter for one of the Magic Trio. Rowling has been very bold against transmania so hopefully there won’t be a trans person. Unfortunately the British are getting as bad as Hollywood for inclusive casting!
To: MinorityRepublican
As you know, anything related to JK Rowling gets attacked by the Trans-mob because far-left JK has had the nerve to say that bio-men should not be allow in women’s shelters.
They call her TERF which, if you are in their universe, is a slur on par with the “N” word.
WB wants to make money on the Harry Potter IP, but what to do? Anything they make will be attacked, boycotted and get lots and lots of bad press!
Hey! If we make all of the characters POC and/or LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ then we will be BULLETPROOF!
Which is what they are doing and why they are doing it.

I laughed the morning the San Diego radio news announced that whites were no longer over 50% of the CA population. The DJs mused that whites are now "minorities". The discussion moved ahead to "people of color" and "colored people" as code words for "not white". Major contortions emerged as various racial preference entries in legal documents conflated "minority" with "not white". It's fun to watch the idiots flagellate over their carefully crafted wording for "not white" preference language.
