Don’t hurt the garbage!

Save the “anemones to worms to little crustaceans.”

Invasive species will adopt sure and cost billions to clean up in the process.

90% of the ocean plastic comes from China and India.

How long before the garbage patches get protection like coral reefs.
There are many life forms that don't like to float around by themselves, they need to attach themselves to something, they don't care what it is.

“Invasive species will adopt sure and cost billions to clean up in the process.”

Not every aspect of adaptation involves the introduction of an “invasive species”, in fact most adaptations do not. And, in some cases some species are not “invasive”, just better at adapting than others around them.

These “coastal” species found in the open ocean are aparently adapting very well, while some other coastal species made not be making that change at all, and still found only on the coasts.

“Species” is not as important as LIFE writ large.

For much the same reason that rats thrive in Democrat strongholds such as Baltimore and San Fransicko . . . it is NOT a pro-pollution argument. We are talking about QUALITY of life, not just life.

Life teems on a sidewalk laden with human fecal matter, but I don't want it in my Trump voting neighborhood.

Absolutely! .....much like we’ve seen burned forests and land spring with life after a tsunami's and floods. The earth has great healing properties God designed within it.....just as he has the human body.

Everything is a parasite or a problem for Mother Nature. She was here before us and will be here long after us. She always, always wins. :)

It’s almost as if she were divinely designed! ;)

I really can’t imagine an argument that plastic is not harmful and doesn’t kill millions of birds and marine mammals very year. Organisms that grow directly on the plastic I would imagine are most comparable to weeds, they may be native but still crowd out more biodiverse species by growing, reproducing and dying quickly.

Just one more example where “scientists” thought they knew everything about this, but yet again, are surprised that it’s occurring.

“The great pacific garbage patch” is supposedly bigger than the state of Texas.

I say: Plant a flag in it and claim it for America!

Our flag still has room for another star!

I saw a story years ago that there are critters that eat the coating on cd’s. This was when cd’s were considered to be good for long term storage but turned on they are just dinner plates for creatures to dine off on.

They will argue it’s not a benefit. It will lead to the spread of invasive species.

Pretty sure that the floating ocean of garbage is a big, fat lie.

I sailed through the North Pacific gyre in 2012. Want to see what it really looks like?

Truth is, the amount of trash in the oceans is appalling. We noticed it on our first crossing in 2007. In 2012 we were asked to make observations, record and report. It's not getting better.

Add in Africa and you’re bumping your head on 100%. The USA contributes maybe 1%.

Intentionally left out of the NPR story, because it has to be portrayed as the fault of OUR “evil ways”, so it’s yet another crisis that WE need to pay for with immediate action to save the planet.
