Hollywood star Mark Hamill, best known for his portrayal of Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars saga, ended up committing quite a blunder after he participated in a video chat with members of Ukrainian armed forces. During said chat, a fragment of which Hamill shared on Twitter, Hamill praised the Ukrainian militants who he claimed were "fighting the good fight" and compared Ukrainian forces to the rebels from Star Wars.
"It was a pleasure meeting with the brave Ukrainian drone operators. We talked about the challenges they face on a daily basis, but they also wanted to talk about Wookiees & farm boys & droids, oh my!" the actor wrote in the tweet.
While many social media users praised Hamill for this act, quite a few netizens pointed at the flag that was seen in the video chat hanging behind Ukrainian militants.
The red-and-black banner in question appeared to be the flag of the so-called Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), an infamous Ukrainian nationalist militant group that collaborated with the Nazis during World War II and perpetrated acts of ethnic cleansing against civilians of Polish and Jewish descent in Volhynia and Eastern Galicia.

It is the UPA flag with some kind of circular insignia. Please get real and quit living in denial.
Right, almost all western nations are supporting Ukraine, since Putin's invasion of a neighboring independent country for territorial gain is a fundamental violation of the worlds international legal order, but I should support Putin in a knee jerk reaction to Biden. Okay
It’s the true pandemic.
May the farce be with you.
And so? What has that flag, or ideology, have anything to do with anything?
Russia has invaded an independant nation without any provocation. They have taken the Crimea and have continuously tried to crush and steal the rest of the nation. They have committed untold war crimes and those aren’t just ‘alleged’, they are plain as day everywhere on the news and video.
Putin’s stated aim is the reconstituted Soviet Union and threatened nuclear war on anyone who intervenes.
And somebody’s having the vapors over a stupid flag?
The Ukranians don’t have to be the good guys. Though,they are in this case. They weren’t planning to invade anybody.
They are a former occupied country left with a the debris of being a former Soviet state and then a Soviet/Russian corrupt puppet state. That’s a lot to overcome.
Doesn’t that seem obvious?
The trees must be blissful in your neck of the swamp.
smh
This was the moment the rescue-workers realized the 2-y-old boy recovered from the rubble of his home was alive.
12 Ukrainians were killed in the Russian missile strike on Sloviansk on April 14.
The boy died less than an hour later in the ambulance on the way to a hospital.
I suppose, since I like drinking tea, you would also suspect that I was a "Hitler fan."
The mere fact that Soros etc. support one side in a war does not automatically put that side in the wrong.
Simplistic thinking! (Or maybe just fallacious reasoning on your part.)
Regards,
So it's okay to send OUR kids to die to prevent THEIR kids from dying???
There's a lot of misery in the world. Most of it isn't ours. It's not our role to fix the world. This is Europe's problem, not America's...
Ukraine is not asking for US soldiers, only weapons.
There's a lot of misery in the world.
Yup, but there is only one war going on right now, where one country, Russia is trying to annex another country, Ukraine and its happening in Europe.
@Tlozo
False Choice on your part, Tlozo.
One side invaded and the other side has thousands who, like a Ukrainian mayor in an interview with western media outlets, was interviewed and oarently forgit he had a picture of Hitler in his office on the wall that was seen, literally hundreds of times people are on record either supporting Hitler/Nazis, making Nazi salutes, wearing or showing Nazi pics, symbols, etc. And to such an extent a few years back western media reported it was rife in western Ukraine.
So you have to and should also openly here be against Ukraine’s gov’t allowing this to fester as well as be against Russia’s gov’t invading.
Well I guess then you're fine with US government acting on anybody in the US that has an objectionable picture on their wall. Right?
"nazis" are known by their actions, and only one group, Russian soldiers are actively robbing, raping, torturing, and executing civilians.
@tlozo
False Choice again on your part.
This being a proxy war, openly admitted to as such by Biden regime officials, doesn’t make it okay being a proxy war because there aren’t US boots on the ground.
Oh wait, the recent leaks, reported on by multiple conservatives on Fox News and elsewhere show there are US boots on the ground in Ukraine, and as well it has been admitted to there are US boots on the ground in Syria and elsewhere as in Somalia (Biden sent them there, reported on by the media) and other places
You need to be against all of this to show you are against both the invasion and proxy wars, US boots on the ground in multiple places, etc, and thereby show you aren’t a neocon phony conservative.
Get to showing it. Thanks in advance...

“Netizens = Russian-paid”
@Alexander Busek
You have to have provide evidence against all these Netizens, that they are Russian-paid, before you can assert this.
And you have to prove that even if they are all somehow Russian that changes anything shown before your eyes, and if it does, prove how it does.
Otherwise you are doing what libtards like Rachel Maddow do and are like her.
“Justifying a Russian invasion of Ukraine for territorial gain by some flag on the wall, is moronic.”
———————————
Who, exactly, did that?
See my tagline!
That is, of course, unprovable, under the current circumstances - but my claim is hardly "extraordinary."
I suppose that if they were to provide their actual (verifiable) identities, it might be possible to do so. But they are rather an amorphous blob of pseudo-entities with about as much individuality as the automatic telemarketers who disturb one's sleep at 2 a.m.
I am thus unable to prove with forensic-level evidence that the anonymize voices belonging to a midnight mob and demanding a digital lynching are, indeed, Russian-paid.
But I dare say that the stink of garbage will usually suffice, for the discerning individual, to label something as "garbage."
Regards,
I'm AGAINST the supposed 14 US soldiers being in Ukraine, but am FOR sending Ukraine F16's and ATACMS. Satisfied?
