VIDEO AT LINK....................
What’s the point in have those crooked sticks if they aren’t going to use them as clubs?
Good fight, but still not the Hanson brothers.
“We went to a boxing match but a hockey game broke out”
It’s illegal...............
It would be a much better sport if they used their hands to swat around that little disk.
Old time hockey!
Gallant was all over him. It wasn’t close. The chick fight at the link was just as entertaining with the little cheerleader taking down the large aggressor.
Hockey players are not allowed to catch or throw the puck at any time during a hockey game. Players are allowed to bat pucks out of the air with an open hand and must be the first player to play that puck with one exception.1 According to NHL Rule 67.1 Handling Puck – A player shall be permitted to “bat” or “stop” a puck in the air with his open hand, or push it along the ice with his hand, and the play shall not be stopped unless he has deliberately directed it to a teammate in any zone other than the defending zone.0

Dumb- just dumb. I had season tickets for the NY Rangers for years and gave them up because people who, as Al Michaels once said, don’t know the difference between a blue line and a clothes line, would go crazy when a fight started.
They had no clue about hockey but loved, “YEH!!! Kick is a$$!!!” during the fights
They need to change that rule.
In fact, they need to get rid of the shoes with the metal things on the bottom.
A much better game if they are on the ice in Florsheims swatting the disk with their hands.

Good one. Reminds me of a columnist’s remark after the Vaillancourt Fountain in San Francisco was constructed. He said that in the next earthquake it might turn into a building.
“It’s illegal...............”
You’re right...on paper. I find it fascinating that this happens and they are always rebroadcast to be watched again and again, the announcer goes crazy promoting it, the teams promoted it and the players and union accept it as part of the game calling them goons. And even though it is all for money, what is the difference between this and a gang fight outside of numbers? When did we lose our position at the top of the food chain? Are these players or gladiators? Might as well watch “pro wrestling” or a rock group trash a hotel room. It’s no different and proves nothing either. People will scream about the brutality of combat and what it is trying to convey, but they won’t understand it because they are not the one getting harmed. Family entertainment, bring the whole family and pay to see semi grown men pimp themselves out for the buck you are paying. But wasn’t it illegal? Not much.

Well done! No one will ever top the fights of the Hanson brothers!! So many great lines and scenes from that movie.
That has happened a few times. That’s why they allow fighting, so they won’t be using their sticks as clubs.
