If it weren't so serious, Gavin Newsom's current assault on red states would be hilarious. What he is peddling as "democracy" is totalitarianism in its worst form. What's frightening is that there are millions of voters throughout America who will lap up what he's selling.
Why? Because they are Zombie Voters; brain-dead people who do zero research and even less thinking before they vote. They get their news from TikTok and Facebook. They vote based on how they feel about a candidate instead of what they think about that candidate's positions.
It's sad but true. California is full of them. Most California voters don't know how to think because most were never taught.
California public schools stamp out individuality and individual thought from day one. They teach boys to be girls and girls to be boys. They teach hard and fast segregation by race ("diversity"), equal outcomes for everyone despite the fact that that is an impossible goal given individual abilities ("equity"), and exclusion unless you fall in lockstep with the approved mantra ("inclusion"). Unless your child precisely follows the state-sponsored curricula and toes the line every step of the way, he will be shut down and shut up. Creativity and free thinking are strictly not allowed.
Your child certainly won't learn to read or write or do arithmetic (it's racist, remember). In fact, the California Department of Education celebrates that California students lost less ground than their peers in some other states. How can any adult think losing less than someone else is something to celebrate? It's something to investigate and work to solve. Unfortunately, the California Department of Education and teachers' unions could not care one speck about what the children under their control learn...

He talks about California being a “freedom” state.
Freedom in what ways? Sexual freedom? All the LGBT business? Abortion freedom? He talks of statewide mail in voting as freedom to vote, making it easier to vote.
And yet, he’s governor of a state from which over 1 million people have moved away from in the last few years. If California was some model for the rest of the country, wouldn’t more be moving in, than moving out????
We want everyone and everything to transition to electric but can’t generate enough power to supply the state as it is now. We have many consecutive years of drought, and then we get a year or two of incredible rainfall and snowpack but not sufficient systems to capture the rainfall and snowmelt to reserve it for the lean years. We don’t manage our forests so we get crazy destructive wildfires and then blame the electricity company that we want to generate power for our electric future. And pretend there are no greenhouse emissions from the fires of course.
Growing up and going to public K-12 schools in California, I say I got a pretty decent primary education but this was decades ago. A couple of years before Kamala, I spent a few grades bussed out of my local school and sent to whatever it was they called it (racial, sociological, economic) distressed schools. Those two years I learned other things. It was an annoyance since I lost most of my local school friends and time to play after school was spent on a bus and no involvement in my own after-school activities since I had to get on the bus. The social experiments continue but in much worse ways now. And for sure, the teachers were almost all Democrats but not today’s crazies. Anyway, from my public school time, the bureaucracy, the byzantine methods of marching kids around to the sound of a bell every 55 minutes and so much more, I knew by age of 15 or so I would never register as a Democrat. Giant public enterprises have no incentive to improve they are built for the workers not for whom they were built to serve.

Where did you live that you were bused? Kamala Harris started as AG in 2011. I didn’t know there was busing in the 2000s, especially in CA.

I was in California. This was the mid to late 1970s. They tried to integrate the schools by force, deciding that going to the school closest to your home was racist since the city (Los Angeles) was mostly racially segregated in where people lived. Which had nothing to do with the kids, and had more to do with economics than complexion. We had a Black mayor - the longest serving mayor the city ever had afaik, and well liked obviously he kept getting reelected.
So they decided to take kids from suburban areas and send them to more urban schools. Not sure what that was supposed to accomplish other than change the overall melanin concentration of the student body in some specific schools. If the idea was that sending white kids into brown schools was going to elevate the brown school kids, well that’s at least patronizing if not a straight up admission that the school system is broken. Or, if the idea was that some white kids needed to go to schools of lesser quality just to create racial fairness (an equal number of poorly educated kids across all racial lines) then it’s even worse!
But that ended after a couple of years, I think by Supreme Court decision. But things haven’t changed much at all. They don’t bus the kids by force anymore. They allow some kids to take a bus to a better school, by choice. Which I believe is what Kamala did. Different than what I was forced to do. Either way though, it is still an admission that a large number of public schools are incapable of educating children. They knew it then but blamed it on racism. They know it now, and still blame it on racism.
It’s just a bad, inefficient system like said built for the people who run it, not for the people it serves. And those people are kids, which makes it all the more painful to witness.
