Putin's new clampdown on draft dodgers: Digital system will prevent men from fleeing abroad to avoid conscription

Vladimir Putin appears to be clamping down on Russian men trying to dodge his invasion of Ukraine by creating a new digital conscription system which would leave them unable to flee abroad.

-snip-

Under the new plan, Russian men will start receiving draft papers by registered post and via their personal account on the 'Gosuslugi' online public services portal - the same site used to book doctor appointments or manage state pensions.

The old system of delivering papers in person will also remain in place. The new rules will apply both to conscripts and to men who are targeted in one-off mobilisation campaigns.

An online call-up will have legal force from the moment it is delivered to someone's personal account, regardless of whether the account holder has seen it or not.

If for some reason the summons cannot be delivered electronically, it will be deemed served seven days after its publication in a newly-created 'register of summonses.'

This law now allows Putin to electronically cut off the bank accounts and identity documents of those who fled the first mobilization, too.

The tattooed barcode on the hand and forehead has the mark of the beast. Convenient for the online society.

Yet another example (one was yesterday here) of why I seldom have to apologize for being a Luddite.

That’s why the Putinists are also pushing for electric cars that can be shut off by a central government claiming “emergency powers”.

I doubt anyone who fled Russia left their money in the country if they could take it out. But it has been pretty normal for refugees to be dead broke wherever and whenever they fled. As for documents, it’s my understanding Russians carry them much as we carry our driver’s license. I suspect that for the people in the first wave the law is closing a barn door long after the horse fled. People who waited until now to consider fleeing were not paying attention or hadn’t read their Russian history.

The reason Jews are often in the jewelry business or actors is that they had to flee so many times in their culture’s history that they often had their wealth in gems or their tools in “acting” both of which you can carry with you.

Incidentally, I never understood why the soldiers fleeing the battlefield didn’t just chew their way through the blocking divisions. But if a soldier couldn’t flee his best option now is to surrender on the front line. Easier said than done, I know.

Under this law, anyone who doesn’t show up at an enlistment office within 7 days of the notice will have their passport and driver’s license canceled automatically.

This includes all Russians currently living and working abroad.

Weird what a fetid, delusional mind will come up with.

Just which “Putinists” have advocated that idea, and how many are there?

Last I checked it’s the supporters of Joe Biden and his corrupt war that want such powers.

“This includes all Russians currently living and working abroad.”

I think the chances of someone living and/or working abroad going back to Russia to sign up for the draft is somewhere near zero.

Russia already had a very bad demographic with very few people having children. The reason for not having children was they didn’t feel they could afford them. The war has increased the demographic disaster by two methods. One, men of child producing age are dying. Two, people who had any marketable skills decided they didn’t want to go die so some old man could reproduce an empire in a world where there aren’t any empires left.

In 1925 my grandfather left his family in Sweden because he realized there was nothing in Sweden for them but poverty. He got a good paying job at a steel mill in Pennsylvania through a relative who had left earlier. He sent a letter and money to my grandmother to bring the two children. She had to get their papers from the church. The priest told her she couldn’t have them. The whole village was moving to America, and he wouldn’t let her go. She picked up a candlestick holder and threatened to beat him to death. He produced the documents, and she went to America. (Her husband was already gone. You have to wonder what was going on in his head. Perhaps he thought he could handle a lone woman.)

The military draft is where the U.S. will be in the next major conflict.

The ordinary Russians I know are living in fear for their sons and husbands. They want peace, not this war.

Considering that he has posting virtually the SAME ARTICLE this close together, maybe he has a fetish with Putin. After all, what good is a wife of 40 years?

A lot of men have bailed out of Russia. Met a bunch of them in Tijuana last year waiting to cross to the U.S.
