Unless and until the technology VASTLY improves, EVs are silly and I will not buy one.
The goal is not to force people to buy EVs. The goal is to force people to move to densely populated democrat controlled cities and ride mass transit.
Both EVs and mass transit are, and will forever be, impractical for people living in the much less populated rural "flyover" counties and states.
Spot on. I drove a Tesla about a month ago and it was an amazing vehicle. It was the fastest car, light to light, that I've ever been in. However, the batteries still aren't where they need to be. On top of that, we haven't built a power plant in years so it'll take massive amounts of new energy to charge all the vehicles. Infrastructure for charging stations will have to move at warp speed. (The environmental mess to mine for battery material is another issue.)
I'm not anti-EV. I think they're pretty cool vehicles, but we're a long way from them being feasible on a daily basis.
