Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell shut down speculation about his retirement in a new interview on Sunday.
"I'm still in the height of my career," the 79-year-old told local PBS station Kentucky Educational Television. "I'm at the top of my game."

I don’t understand any politician who wants to keep working at age 80. Go home and play with your grandchildren. Is power that intoxicating that you are going to die working? Don’t you have a life other than being Senate Republican Leader or House Majority Leader or whatever other office they hold? People like McConnell, Biden, Pelosi and the others who are working well into their “retirement” years are disturbing. They sure as Hell don’t need to work.
Until he comes out of the closet, I’ll do the Christian thing and give the benefit of a doubt.
