Seems this operation was a lot bigger than just an errant policy paper from a local field office.
When news broke a few weeks ago about the FBI targeting the Catholic Church's Latin mass enthusiasts as part of the great Joe Biden hunt for "extremists," outrage ensured, and the bureau moved quickly to dismiss the matter as the doing of an errant field office, which put out a bum policy paper. It certainly wasn't the FBI's policy to target Americans for their beliefs, FBI Director Christopher Wray testified, adding that the miscreants in the Richmond local field office would be given refresher courses to put them back on the straight and narrow. Never mind that they'd committed a violation of the First Amendment rights of American citizens under the Constitution. The refresher courses would fix everything.
Well, now it turns out there was more to the matter than simply a bad policy paper from the FBI's local yokels out in the Richmond backwoods who didn't understand the First Amendment.
According to National Review:
As part of its effort to identify extremists in the Catholic Church, the FBI recruited at least one “undercover employee” to “develop sources among the clergy and church leadership,” Representative Jim Jordan (R., Ohio) revealed Monday.
Jordan, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, issued a subpoena demanding FBI director Christopher Wray testify and provide more information to Congress about the federal agency’s intelligence-gathering initiative targeting Catholic Americans.
Meaning, it was more than a policy paper, it was an anti-Catholic operation that was advanced pretty far along, complete with the recruiting of at least one informant.
Who the heck was this informant for this illegal act, how'd they find this character, how did the FBI make the recruitment pitch, and how much taxpayer money...

I had completely forgotten about that. That was a huge issue.
And Ed Young of 2nd Baptist church refused loudly.
I wonder if they target churches that talk in tongues.
I'm curious as to your basis for that claim. My personal experience with Latin Mass in several cities is that the congregation is mostly White Honkeys, with black and hispanic congregants somewhat UNDER-represented relative to their fraction of the general American population.
I think they’re more worried about those old ladies’ children and numerous grandchildren ...
Is the SPLC behind this ?
Recall the Obama Administrations outright attempts to co-opt the RC Church?
When I lived in Southern California. You must have missed the first part of the sentence
The word “California” is entirely absent from Post #7 ...
Thank you for the clarification, though. That does make sense.
My bad, it was another post in the same string
It depends on where you live. When I lived in SoCal, it was mostly Latin Americans in the Latin mass. No Latin mass where I live now. Does Joe serve Satan? Absolutely. In fact his stance on defending trans rights over normal healthy intelligent people demonstrates that. the god that trans people serve is a kin to Satan, who is depicted with male genitalia and breasts, with horns. And it is a god of sexuality and of immorality, who is aggressive. And we see that in these people as of late. Demanding rights, and wanting to groom children. Much like Sodom and Gomorrah. I have to say that just when I think it can’t get worse in the US, it gets worse. I do know within this trans group is a sub group calling themselves “Minor attracted person” another name for pedophile. They are trying to get acceptance and recognition as normal behavior. Which is part of the drag queens grooming kids and schools grooming kids. Just when you think they can’t go lower, they do.
Agree re. Pedo Joe and the perverts.
About Latin Mass ... probably reflects the local population. SoCal is much more heavily hispanic than WV, VA, or OH.
