Japan seems to have a good handle on handling trash and keeping their streets clean. Despite being one of the most densely populated nations on earth.
As opposed to the US, which just has a dense population.
Unlike the turd world the G7 nations who created the plastics have the ability to recycle and they try to recycle
The turd world couldn’t make the plastics let alone recycle.

They’re privileged in their culture, something that severely lacks in the U.S., plus they get to take naps at work, while also do daily workouts on the job to keep the work pace.
First is social pressure. Which you find in Japan and the US.
Second is legal pressure. Which you also find in Japan and the US. Fines for littering.
Third is for people to be unbelievably poor so the litter can be up-cycled into something valuable.
I do not recommend the third option.
Singapore seems to have figured it out.
