RIP Ian Bairnson.

The APP is terribly underrated. “Eye In The Sky” is one of the greats.
Started out with the band “Pilot”

The singer of Pilot, David Paton, was also another APP mainstay.
That stuff blew my teenaged mind.
I don’t think Eric Woolfson ever got the credit he deserved for being a great songwriter.
A very worthy tune.
I thought for a minute that there was really a band named Home News. Guess there isn’t. :-)
RIP
Dang copy/paste.
Really good guitarist
I think he was eye in the sky solo
Still working on that one
RIP
I really enjoyed the Allan Parsons Project.
A dear friend who introduced me to it passed on a few years back. Wish I’d stayed in contact with him.

I just listened to all of Pyramid just two weeks ago.
Sad news. One of my faves.
I would agree with you. APP has numerous buried treasures in their catalog. Then you add Ian’s work with Kate Bush there’s a lot he brought to the world.
I think my favorite APP is “Standing on Higher Ground”. Not well known but just terrific. The louder the better
That’s my favorite APP album as well.
I love Colin Blunstone’s vocals on “The Eagle Will Rise Again”
Closer to Heaven on “Gaudi” is another favorite, any song Eric sang on was special.
