This is the horrifying moment a 15-year-old high school student punched a teacher in the head while demanding to get his cell phone.
Footage circulating Twitter shows the student standing intimidatingly close to the shorter educator repeatedly asking for his '******* phone' before swinging his fist into the teacher's face.
Lamar High School in Houston sent a letter to families with principal Rita Graves saying that this type of behavior won't be tolerated and that administrators were looking at ways to prevent this happening again.
Neither student or teacher have been publicly identified at this time.
In the clip a student repeatedly says 'give me my ******* phone back' the teacher calmly asking the student to 'sit down.'
'Give me my phone,' the student his heard saying yet again and appearing exasperated.
The student is then seen leaning back and punching the teacher square in the face as a bystander who is out of frame screams in disbelief.
The person filming is seen quickly ending the recording as the savage attack takes place.
DailyMail.com has contacted students, parents and Lamar High School's principal Graves for comment.
Speaking to KHOU 11 Texas branch of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), the second largest teacher's labor union in America, said the kid has made a 'huge mistake.'

We’ve been lowering standards all over the place for the last fifty years. It’s got to stop. People on the Left continue to lower our standards of behavior. They are the source of the problem.
did they arrest the teacher for being a racist?
Teachers should carry guns. Theyd be getting assaulted alot less.
***principal Rita Graves: this type of behavior won’t be tolerated***
Did I miss something? All the evidence points to the fact that this kind of behavior IS, in fact, being tolerated.
I am of the opinion that if a student uses any item such as a phone without the teacher’s permission, they should be removed from the class. Teachers should not be in the position of trying to enforce rules by taking private property. The teacher should have the option of having the student removed and then continue class.
My friends daughter, a teacher, seven months pregnant, heard something going on in the hallway. A thug was beating up on his queen. She went into her room, attempting to call for help. The boy followed her in, began choking her, then violently shoved her to the ground, She had a concussion bad enough to be in the hospital for two days, fortunately it did not interfere with her pregnancy. The school did NOTHING, in fact, she was basically threatened by the school if she attempted to press charges.
Enjoy inclusion, Teach.
Student phones s/b banned from schools
Black seem to favor sucker punching people.
In GA that would be an automatic suspension followed by move to one of the “alternative schools” set up to deal with serious miscreants.
It is common enough my wife’s school has adopted a policy to not confiscate phones.
Every hide an addicts drugs? Sane reaction
An assault like that against a teacher should be a felony. If they don’t put a stop to this sort of thing few teachers will want to work in urban schools. And of course those teachers who refuse to work in those schools will be called racist.
The Congess can make the possession of a cell phone after an school-related assault by the assailant a felony.
Some states allow teachers to carry. So far, I believe there hasn’t been a school shooting where teachers carry. That said, the idea shouldn’t be pushed for them to carry. Lots of unstable teachers out there.
Another case of being knocked down but surviving....

I have no sympathy. They created this situation. Let them stew in it.
Yep.
