Jim Caviezal. When Mel Gibson realized he had the same initials as Jesus, it freaked him out, but he took it as a sign that he found the right guy.
I think he got the perfect actor. He is very careful with the roles he accepts and organizations he supports.
I still recall watching one of final episodes of Touched By An Angel. An actor representing Christ was in it. Later that actor was arrested for indecent behavior with a child. I’ve had a hard time watching that series in rerun because of it.
