Transgender Actor Hari Nef to Feature in New Barbie Film Transgender model and actor Hari Nef will feature in the upcoming new Barbie film, according to reports.
Based on the classic Mattel toy Barbie, marketed at young girls, the film will feature transgender Hari Nef as detailed in a promotional image the transgender actor shared on social media.
Nef tweeted a poster of the film featuring the actor in full-character costume.
“This Barbie is a doctor,” the poster extols.
Nef also released a previously written letter to the film’s director Greta Gerwig after it was revealed that the “Transparent” actor could not participate in the movie due to scheduling conflicts, The Daily Caller reported.
In the letter, ef asked Gerwig and Robbie to “fudge” the schedule so the actor could participate.
As Pink News reported:
Nef begins the letter by acknowledging how the people involved with the film, including Gerwig and Robbie, “played no small role in cultivating my love of sitting in the dark in front of big screens for an hour or two,” before describing how the monumental impact of Barbie in popular culture contributed to her “need” to join the film.
“Identity politics and cinema aren’t my favourite combination, but the name BARBIE looms large over every American woman,” she wrote. “Barbie’s the standard; she’s The Girl; she’s certainly THE doll.”
Barbie going ‘woke’ is nothing new, unfortunately.
Last year, Mattel announced the release of its newest Barbie doll to celebrate transgender actor Laverne Cox to “highlight the importance of inclusion and acceptance.”
“We are proud to highlight the importance of inclusion and acceptance at every age and to recognize Laverne’s significant impact on culture with a Tribute Collection Barbie,” said Lisa McKnight, Executive Vice President and Global Head of Barbie and Dolls at Mattel, when the announcement was made.
As CBS News reported, the company worked directly with Cox to sculpt the doll and develop the gown.
The Tribute Collection will also honor Lucille Ball for being a trailblazer for women in entertainment and Queen Elizabeth II, who was honored with a doll just ahead of her Platinum Jubilee and timed for her 96th birthday.
Cox’s doll was also released in advance of her 50th birthday on May 29.
She held a Barbie-themed party on Thursday to celebrate both her birthday and her doll.
Saw the commercial for that the other day......not only is it offensive but also ridiculously STUPID.
LOL!!! They make EVERYTHING UGLY!
Let us hope it becomes the biggest box office bomb of all time..........................
Hey America! Why do we need real women anymore?!? Let’s just get rid of them out of the marketplace, the magazines, the movies and TV shows. Let’s get them to have abortions instead of having babies or using contraceptives! Let’s get rid of women’s sports...we don’t need them! Beauty contests? NAWWWW, we have transgenders to participate! They may have beards and/or penises but what the heck...at least they are better then women! /s
I predict the last time a bomb that big went off it was over Hiroshima.
They got the right guy though.......Ryan gosling is a puzzy....hopefully his acting career never recovers from this.
Can’t find a real woman or don’t want a real woman ? Sounds like a stinker movie and waste of money or tax write-off
So the message to little girls iis, men can be doctors even if they dress up like women
The worst part is they originally cast Amy Schumer as Barbie for this movie before Hollywood realized that was a bridge too far.

She held a Barbie-themed party on Thursday to celebrate both her birthday and her doll.
