Ah! The promotion of Lt. Col. Alfred W. Ellet to Brigadier General makes the paper.

Back in March, one of niteowl77's ancestors had sufficiently recovered from a nearly fatal case of typhoid fever to be discharged from his Illinois volunteer infantry regiment and re-mustered into Ellet's 1st Infantry Regiment of the U.S. Mississippi Marine Brigade.
