I remember that day. I remember black co-workers cheering. This was in a nursing home. Mostly because President Reagan instituted a work requirement for welfare recipients. These were my pre-Rush Limbaugh days. Even though I had some leftist leanings in those days, I thought cheering because a Republican president was shot was a bridge too far.

Look how far we’ve digressed since then.

I might watch that film for fifty thousand dollars.

Richard Crenna was OK playing Luke McCoy (not a good actor but Kate loved him) but the whole idea of this movie was trash.

I remember that day well! The ABC news room was having a hissy fit and when it was mentioned the RG .22 rimfire pistol had been bought in Dallas, Frank Reynolds threw his hands in the air and yelled ....”A-G-G-H! DALLAS!”
Obviously a flash back to Nov 22, 1963.

The next morning actress Lee Grant was on ABC’s Good Morning America poking holes in the air with her finger and yelled....”THE NRA IS A RIFLE ORGANIZATION! THEY SHOULD GIVE UP THEIR HANDGUNS AND THEY CAN KEEP THEIR RIFLES!”

In 1984 they began to demonize rifle ownership.

IIRC Anwar Sadat, and Pope JPII were also shot within a 60 day window of Reagan's shooting.

Coincidence????

I enjoyed and followed Ronaldus Magnus ever since he was my Governor in California. They way he took on the University protesters was glorious, and bode well for the rest of the country eventually.

As Rush would often state, Reagan provided the perfect example and template for landslide victories. Most people, even today, respond to simple, eternal truth. In 2016, when large percentage of Hispanics voted for President Trump, leftist creeps were furious. How dare they stray off the liberal plantation! Honest, simple, discussion of the Founding principles in straightforward language, no ‘spin’ no obfuscation, no psychobabble. While liberal creepozoids love to lie, cheat, etc, Reagan inspired.

We used to celebrate successful people, successful billionaires who built America. President Trump, as just successful citizen Trump, was celebrated until he threatened the Ruling Class.

One of the Secret Service agents (think his name was McCarthy) reacted instinctively and stood straight up in the line of fire and was shot. He survived. These agents are willing to give their lives in defense of the president.

The assassin is free, and traveling the country as a “Rock Star”.
