“Write it. Shoot it. Publish it. Crochet it, Sauté it, whatever. MAKE.” ~ Joss Whedon
The Monthly Create, Make and Share Thread is a monthly gathering of people that love to create and make. From yarn (crochet, knitting), fabric (sewing, quilting), threads (embroidery, weaving), wood crafts, ceramics, artwork and anything else you create and would like to share, this is the place to do it. Sharing something you’ve created and/or made is pure joy...and we need joy in our lives!
From complete Newbies that are looking to start that first project, to experienced artists, we would love to hear from you. If you have questions or would like advice, there’s probably someone on the thread who would be able to help.
It is impossible to hijack the Monthly Create, Make and Share Thread. Knitting, crochet, sewing, quilting, weaving, general crafting, art, wood working, patterns, articles on any of these topics, or even your own writing. There is no telling where it will go, and that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us! Send a Private Message to Diana in Wisconsin if you’d like to be added to our Ping List.
NOTE: This is a once a Month Ping List. We DO post to the thread during the month. Links to related articles and discussions which might be of interest to other Create, Make and Share fans are welcomed any time.
I break out in blisters if I happen to be anywhere NEAR the stuff! On the other hand, Beau makes a Nettle Tea each spring as his ‘tonic’ and he thrives on it. My ‘Crazy Aunt Susie’ used to do the same. ;)
Supposedly full of Vitamin C. Never knew about the textile use though, so THANKS! :)
Beautiful spring postbox toppers are popping up across the country
Some incredible crafters over there.
It’s called yarn bombing...
Who knew!
Thank you! I knew of Yarn Bombing, but what a bunch of talented folks in your first link!
What a pretty dress, I love the design.
In my experience crochet uses so much more yarn than knitting! If you want to use less yarn, look into knitting.
Thank you. Knitting baby things is my usual hobby.
I have four go-to baby dress patterns I use. Just added that one.
I also have socks and booties continually in the works which I have in little go boxes for when I will he out of the house waiting (airport, dentist office..)
I make little pullovers, pants, cardigans and pullover sweaters too. A very satisfying hobby.
Definitely true! I have been knitting off of the partially complete crochet shawl (converting it into a knit shawl) & I probably got a knitted version twice the size of the crocheted one using the same yarn.
Thanks, I didn’t know about the tea and sure could use a tonic right now. I usually feel bad in the spring until I give blood. Old timers knew more than most doctors it seems to me nowadays. It seems to be pick a poison now. Beau and you should get a Heartsaver CT Scan if you can get one in your area. 99 Dollars and gives me a very accurate picture of what is going on in my coronary arteries. I’ve had two in the last seven years. The latest calcium deposits are much worse than before. That could be from getting hypercalcemia from the vitamin D3 hammer.
Thanks for the suggestion; I’ve seen adds for that heart monitor. Looks useful! :)
