Governor’s have that power within their state.
Won’t happen.
Let’s say these were federal charges and Biden could act. If I were him, one of the conditions would be a come to Jesus trueup
Fear of the Hunter trial may go ahead of schedule?.
You don’t understand, Trump can’t be allowed to run for President EVER AGAIN, so Joe will never pardon him.
If is for children.
It won’t end with Trump. The Democrats are going to rue the day that they opened this Pandora’s Box and turned us into Eastern Europe or Latin America.
Somewhere in Delaware, a conservative prosecutor is licking his chops.
It’s a state charge
‘To be honest, I don’t see him getting indicted.’
I’ll be generous here and assume you meant to say ‘arraigned...’
‘He’s not before a judge yet and the file is under seal. They still have time to back out.’
okay, I see you did in fact mean to say ‘arraigment...’
He won’t do it. But if he did you can bet the next President will be “democrat” deep stater as opposed to a “republican” deep stater.
He can’t , he can only pardon a federal charge, not state charges. At least that’s what I read.
Musson, you made that up, right? By definition the DA is only prosecuting state law charges. That the tests, and twisting stuff around doesn’t change it. Shadowlands, you’re just wrong. Let’s see a single example, please
You are correct.
OK. You said he wouldn't be indicted, I said they just did. Getting it adjudicated may/may not get them to back out. That's a different level. The GJ handed down an indictment. Are we splitting hairs? I'm not a lawyer and I don't think I ever stayed @Holiday Inn.
When I posted that the specific case I had in mind was Carter’s pardon of Peter Yarrow for a sexual offense. It turns out that case involved the District of Columbia so was Federal. So I mistook...
I still don’t see how a power can be considered both ‘plenary’ and ‘limited.’ They need to stop referring to the President’s pardon power as ‘plenary’ if it is in fact limited.
It is plenary, but only in federal crimes. I know our opponents want the federal
Government to rule over all, but there are a few quaint relics of federalism remaining, and here is one of them
