A Boston man and his two daughters were arrested Friday following a disturbance at a movie theater in Dorchester,(snip)
Freddie Bates, 47, is facing charges of carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, assault and battery, affray, trespassing, and disorderly conduct after he allegedly assaulted a security guard at the theater.
Boston police responded to AMC South Bay Center 12 at 25 District Ave. just before 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
Theater staff alleged that Bates, while visiting the theater with his four daughters at the time, had made some comments, which left female employees feeling uncomfortable. This included asking them out on dates, the district attorney said.
Security eventually asked Bates to leave after he “became aggressive and started screaming profanities at one of the guards,” a release from the district attorney’s office noted.
Bates is also accused of punching a security guard in the face while police were on the scene, resulting in a physical fight with the guard. As this was happening, two of his daughters also allegedly punched the guard.

After arresting Bates, officers found a Hopkins & Allen .22 caliber pistol, which was loaded with five rounds, Hayden said.
One of the two daughters, who had punched the guard earlier, spit at the guard after witnessing her dad get arrested, the prosecutor said.
The two daughters, ages 16 and 17, were arrested and arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court,(snip)
The 16-year-old is facing charges of larceny of a firearm, assault and battery, possession of a firearm without a license, and possession of ammunition without a license.
