In dealing with the Left, it's always a matter of recognizing how the game is played.
I've thought about this for a long time now and I've come to some conclusions about why we allow ourselves to be constantly pushed around by our fellow Americans on the Left.
My conclusion is that we bend over backwards, turn the other cheek and give the benefit of the doubt to those who've declared themselves our political enemies because we feel we must remain on the moral high ground and be true to our beliefs.
One of those beliefs is that all people have the right to speak their minds however objectionable or wrong-headed/wrong-hearted their comments and core beliefs may be. We conservatives defend the right of every person to be wrong, and because we've been brought up to believe that there are just some things that civilized people don’t do to each other, we leave our flank exposed to attack from those on the Left.
We let our ideals get the better of us.
The same is true of our better nature. While we try to avoid lying to others and to ourselves, we cannot control those who repeatedly lie to us nor are we able to keep conversations with liberals on topic and avoid their attempts at personalizing them through name-calling, aspersion-casting and downright animus. We're suckers for principles and for our faith in the inherent goodness of others. We operate on a single guiding philosophy that includes fairness, civility and charitableness. Straying from even one of these unwritten rules of behavior and allowing ourselves to openly push back at our accusers - even in the face of an ad hominem attack - guarantees us a guilty conscience, accompanied by a nagging feeling of moral desertion to our principles.

Many leftists I have known would be horrified if someone treated them back the same way that they act.
The problem is many Americans do not even know a fight is going on.
Why don't they know? Because the media has been controlled by ideological Progressive for decades.
People are just now waking up, which is why the left is so bent on censorship and control of the information flow.
These are not our "fellow Americans;" these are lying, perverted, murdering traitors to the United States of America.
I’ve long abandoned the pretense of civility with people on the left. They interpret civility as being in agreement with them and I make myself clear that I am not in agreement with them.

Make your behavior, verbiage, and attitude mirror theirs. It will drive them nuts! How dare you!
It's well known, and accepted by many, that it's always better to give than to receive.

The Democrats/progressives/Leftists are, at the same time, both hypocrites and well trained users of a very effective psychological technique. They do what they do to shame the rest of society into giving them the power that they so badly crave. When it looks like the tables are turned, they go into “horror mode.” They accuse anyone opposing them, or investigating them, or exposing them, of doing exactly what they had been doing previously. Here are some examples:
When they have been guilty of rigging elections, and are called on it, they accuse us of exactly the same. Similarly, when we call for election integrity laws to stop vote-rigging, they accuse us of racism for “trying to stop minorities from voting.”
When we catch them lying and abusing the power of the federal government, including constitutional processes like impeachment, they recoil in horror, and accuse us of “undermining democracy” or “undermining the Constitution.” Chuck Schumer is ALWAYS there, lying his slimy, smarmy, ass of, together with fakely threatening to cry about what the horrible “right wing extremists” are doing.
There are many more examples, both on a governmental and personal level. Just remember, our Leftists are no different than those that controlled the Soviet Union back in the day. When the United States was accused of something in Pravda it was an absolute guarantee that the Soviet Union had been, and was doing, exactly the same thing. This is how they roll, this is how criminals psychologically disarm their victims. It is up to us to first realize what is happening, and to then call them on it - every single time.
If you have power and influence, and your mind is disordered, you should not have a "right to speak your mind".

I am not quite so pessimistic. Parents are beginning to take back the schools, and with Musk having liberated Twitter from Leftist Fascism, there is a glimmer of hope. Neither of these battles is in anything but a very early stage, but the Left has been so over the top for so long, and with such horrible results, that people are beginning to get tired of it. Never give up hope, that is when you are defeated.
Not too long ago, leftists HATED that you would impose your values on them. Now, there are inappropriate drag queen shows for children.
