Morphine can suppress breathing and heart rate.
IMO, they are not handing that out for her comfort to but to kill her off more quickly, knowing exactly what it can do to someone.
It’s dual use. The RN clearly knew that. What an awful job for someone like her who is genuinely dedicated to care.
FWIW, when my pancreas exploded, I was given morphine. There is no question in my mind that I would have died without it.
