It’s dual use. The RN clearly knew that. What an awful job for someone like her who is genuinely dedicated to care.

FWIW, when my pancreas exploded, I was given morphine. There is no question in my mind that I would have died without it.

Ouch!

I have discovered that most people who go into some kind of healthcare do so out of a genuine love of people and desire to help them. They have to as it is a thankless job that requires many tasks that most of us would not want to deal with. And they often do it with encouragement and a smile on their faces.

When my mom was in the hospital, many years ago, dying from cancer, I saw the hard work and dedication of the nursing staff on the floor and got them a fruit basket to which I added some candy, as a thanks to them. They were stunned. They so rarely get thanked and appreciated. Mostly they get crapped on by the family.
