The Elite Eight won’t feature any No. 1 seeds for the first time in NCAA men's tournament history.
Nigel Pack’s hot shooting propelled No. 5 Miami to an 89-75 win over No. 1 Houston in the Midwest region on Friday night. Miami’s win came less than an hour after No. 1 Alabama lost to No. 5 San Diego State in the South region.
SNIP
Alabama and Houston entered Friday night’s Sweet 16 games as the last two No. 1 seeds remaining in the NCAA men's tournament. Purdue became just the second No. 1 seed to lose in the first round when it lost to Fairleigh Dickinson a week ago and Kansas lost to Arkansas in the second round. Both the Crimson Tide and Cougars were favored by 7.5 points ahead of their matchups and a win by either one would have set up a rare tournament situation. Just four Elite Eights have featured a single No. 1 seed.

Yeah, they have our former assistant coach.
Stricklin screws up again.
IMHO, the Gonzaga-UConn winner will be National Champion.
We’re about to find out
when we went to vegas for the West coast conference tourney, our neighbor sent along $50 to place on Gonzaga to win it all....this was back in early March....hope he wins.
Gonzaga may be down by 7 towards the end of the first half, but they’ve missed a number of shots they should have made.
Few is one of the best at making half-time adjustments.
Hard to argue with that.
UConn running away with it now.
They are the team to beat.
UConn looking tough, plus the Zags are a one man team.
Damn up 31. Didn’t see this coming.
I turned off the TV when Gonzaga was down by 21. It’s going to get real ugly.
UConn is going to win the National Championship, and they will blow out the teams they play in the Final Four.
I think you’re right.
Weird ending there. Does Creighton have a beef?
With all the physical contact during the game, maybe that call shouldn’t have been made. If the defender had used an open hand on the back, it probably wouldn’t have been called, but he grabbed the shooters jersey.
Darn, both FL teams out...
FAU just couldn’t box out, and too many turnovers, late.
