When I reflect on my teachers, I can’t think of a single one who would be worth a damn when the gun battle started.

Ha! My second grade teacher shot and killed her abusive husband. She was my teacher in the early 1960s, and the incident happened some years before that.

The armed protectors must be from outside the school and law enforcement officers

Why not both? Teachers willing to be trained and armed as well as security hired from outside.

Memphis is Tennessee’s Chicago. Stay away from there. We went through there once and have never been back. It’s beautiful, but dangerous after dark.

It does not appear that you “got” what I was trying to convey there. Socrates only noodles through the permutations of history, finance and the temporal relationship to Pi.
