Russia draws in Africa with charm offensive against Western ‘neo-colonialism’
The Africa Report ^ | 3/22/2023 | Jeanne Le Bihan

On 19 and 20 March, some 40 African delegations travelled to Moscow ahead of the Russia-Africa summit scheduled for July in St Petersburg, to discuss cooperation and the fight against the influence of “former colonial powers”.

There is but one step between Vladimir Putin’s office and the Duma in central Moscow. It was at the Russian parliament’s headquarters, just a few metres from the Kremlin, that the conference “Russia-Africa in a multipolar world” was held from 19-20 March, the second of its kind devoted to strengthening cooperation between African and Russian parliamentarians.

The meeting came ahead of the next Africa-Russia summit, to be held in St. Petersburg at the end of July, four years after the Sochi summit.

On Monday 20 March, Vladimir Putin spoke at the conference, between two meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is on an official three-day visit to Russia. The Russian president insisted on the need to cooperate more with African countries – one of the “priorities” of his foreign policy, before announcing the free delivery of grain to the continent if the food agreement between Russia and Ukraine is not renewed. He also said that African soldiers from some 20 countries were currently being trained in Russia.

Among the audience were many African parliamentarians. The president of Mali’s Conseil national de la transition (CNT), Colonel Malick Diaw, a member of the ruling junta in Bamako, which has made Russia its new ally, denounced the “perpetuation [of] domination” by “former colonial powers”. Ousmane Bougouma of Burkina Faso, president of l’Assemblée législative de la transition (TLA), also attended the conference, as did the vice-president of Chad’s CNT Malloum Yoboïdé Djeraki and the president of Guinea’s CNT Dansa Kourouma.

Simplice Mathieu Sarandji (Central Africa’s National Assembly president), Jacob Mudenda (Zimbabwe’s National Assembly spokesperson) and Hamoud Abdenasser

nice job globohomos! Your singular focus on grooming children and protecting the deep states money laundering in Ukraine has turned an entire continent into the arms of Russia and China!

Offering to send the Wagner group to provide security for the mines and drilling platforms in exchange for a percentage of the take is hardly a charm offensive. It’s the Mafia making a protection deal.

Some tears ago, my daughter was working for a company, which sent her and a few others on a business trip to China. She was the only woman and so had her own guide much of the time. She was very curious about the Africans, who she saw sitting about, doing nothing, she asked the guide where they came from and what they were doing in China. He shrugged and just said, Africa and theydont do anything except steal from the Chinese. He said that no one talks to them because no one knows what language they speak and none of them spoke Chines or any other language as far as he knew. He said that the government just brought them into their city and left them there. The Chinese residents were very unhappy with the situation. At least the migrants here try to communicate.

You wonder if the people were there willingly.

I simply do not understand the world’s obsession with “cultivating” Africa.

Sure, its got minerals and resources, like many other places. But its a sinkhole of corruption and inefficiency. When they are your friends, they act like your enemy, and when they are your enemy, they act like your friends.

If you want something from Africa, simply give them $$, and they will sell it.

Otherwise, keep it at arms length.

Charm offensive?

Give me a break.

90% of the African political leaders are already Communists or neo-Marxist.

The African National Congress (ANC) has been openly aligned with the African Communist Party for at least 50 years!

And it’s an easy sell. China and Russia never had colonies in Africa. They show up, build infrastructure, make deals, sell food, buy minerals etc... and they don’t screw with the local government. Africans like that.

We show up with the military and little else.

We suffer hard in comparison.

U.S. is currently attempting to strong-arm Uganda over its new law. At least Russia and China won’t attempt to force sodomy on you, Africa!

Truth Flashback:

Trump referred to Haiti and African nations as ‘shithole’ countries

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as “shithole” nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can’t have more immigrants from Norway.

Trump questioned why the United States would want people from nations such as Haiti while he was being briefed on changes to the visa lottery system.

According to the aide, when the group came to discussing immigration from Africa, Trump asked why America would want immigrants from “all these shithole countries” and that the U.S. should have more people coming in from places like Norway.

Africa has the highest population growth rate.

One need not think further than that about this, but if one wants to, all those countries are being lined up such that Russia, China, India, Indonesia and Africa in a general way add up to the MAJORITY of mankind, and they support Russia and talk only about US exploitation and abuse.

In the end it all comes down to the US central bank creating dollars from thin air and persuading counterparties all over the world that they have value. As opposed to the Joules in oil and gas, which can be found in abundance in Nigeria, Angola, Libya, Algeria — all Africa.

The US produces more oil than them. Now. The US has been producing 100 years and is conventionally is in terminal decline. Africa is not.

This is value. Not printed pieces of paper.

You wonder if the people were there willingly.

Yes, they are there quite willingly. Living off the dole in China is FAR better than their home countries. China, like western powers before them, foolishly try to "cultivate" Africa and run influence operations there. Mao did it in the 1950s and 1960s to promote Communism, while today China does it more for strategic and business. To that end, they offer $billions in aid, trade finance, student scholarships, etc...

So living off even Chinese stipends in China is FAR better than staying in West or sub-saharan Africa.

I've met Chinese professors who complain to me that the African students in their universities are getting stipends higher than the university administrative staff. Many Africans are only there because their political connections back home gave them an advantage when such scholarships are handed out

Before Covid anyway, it was estimated there were up to 400K illegal African immigrants in China, mostly all in the Southern Chinese cities of Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Students would overstay visas, then just blend into the local african ghettos. They would run small businesses, particularly involving exports back to Africa.

It causes a lot of resentment among regular Chinese, who have ZERO concept of our western, post-modern, racial/cultural "diversity."

Japan is a top economy in the world, and it never had colonies in Africa or found it necessary to dump aid, military, infrastructure, support refugees, etc... in Africa.

They get what they want simply by letting corporations or individuals do what is needed, and keeping government out of it.

One has to remember, as we saw with Ukraine, the corruption also flows back to the politics of the giver. As much as African dictators benefit from all this “aid” and “cooperation” the cronies of the benefactor countries profit also.

As such Africa is a corrupt sinkhole for any and all schemes and good intentions. It will poison oneself, as much as it poisons and hurts average Africans as well.

The guide told my daughter that they didn’t seem to getting support from the government, just a bed to sleep in. That is why they were stealing everything wasn’t nailed down. The guide said that they had little crime in China before they brought the Africans.
