Pray for me, FReeper Family - New Job Prospect out of CA
self | 03/22/2023 | fwdude

Posted on 03/22/2023 12:02:24 PM PDT by fwdude

I'm under final consideration for a great job in mid-management for a mid to large sized distribution company. The problem is the main corporate office is based in Sunnyvale, CA, a suburb in the San Francisco/San Jose area. I haven't dug in deep enough to know the corporate culture yet, but considering the area, I have a lot of trepidation on company-wide requirements, many probably mandated in KKKalifornia. I would be working remote from Texas, with occasional trips to the mothership.

I would have several reports under me. My concern is that I would be required to subscribe to insane wokeness, including "pronoun usage" and celebration of perversion in the designated month (signature line icons, lead events, etc.) I have no basis for suspecting this will be the case, other than the location of the company base.

Everyone I have spoken and interviewed with so far has seemed very nice, polite, sane and normal. I've searched LinkedIn for any indications of overt activism in the major players, and have seen none. I'm hoping it's possible that the company is an oasis in a conservative desert, but I'm going to have to prepare to either turn down a great opportunity, or get in and then be a thorn if the climate is as I suspect.

Pray for me, that I make the right decision, and if it turns South, to stand firm in my principles unapologetically.

Prayers up.

Even if you live in texas,

I think

you will still have to pay California State income tax on your pay.

That’s a fact. CA Non-resident filings.

“corporate office is based in Sunnyvale, CA”

Don’t do it.
A simple Cost/Benefit Analysis would show why

Unlimited costs, zero benefits.
Any salary increase would be offset by housing/tax costs.
And then you’re trapped in Californication.

the horror . . .

Sunnyvale?

Not too bad. Far enough inland that it isn’t as gloomy as The City.

I was born and raised in SE Los Angeles county. I escaped CA in 1979. If you work for a CA company, CA screwy tax laws will haunt you. wherever you are.

I wouldn’t live in California, this is a remote position working from anywhere I choose, in my case Texas. I would only make occasional visits to the corporate office.

If you don’t have to sell your soul to work there, I’m sure they’ll have a nice and safe hotel in mind when you go there on business. It sounds like they’ll make it worth your while to work from Texas. Prayers for you!

As long as you don’t have to physically relocate to the Californication, you should be OK. Hefty state income taxes and gawd knows what other taxation may apply however. Put a pencil to it ...

Don’t sell your soul for 30 pcs. of silver.
Sounds like you have the “chops” for an excellent position somewhere. Keep looking. You will find the right one.
Good luck.

Everyone I have spoken and interviewed with so far has seemed very nice, polite, sane and normal

/\

Speaking with them
drop a

” praise Jesus”
Or
“ bless your heart”
Or
“ How about that guy Trump ?”

here and there and see if their tone towards you changes.

Calvary Chapel started in california, and there are quite a few Christians here.

Not all agnostic or atheists are rabbid woke, but their reaction will let you know where they fall on the gauge.

But my suggestion could save you a lot of safe sudden and effective grief.

Where are y’all getting this? You do NOT get taxed for California taxes if you live outside California, if you do you made a big mistake somewhere.

I would ask them straight-up if you will be required to undergo Maoist struggle sessions... I mean Critical Race Theory indoctrination.

If the answer is “yes,” then your previous questions have been answered and you will be out-of-the-running just by asking that question.

If the answer is “no,” then your previous questions have been answered and you will be on the fast track for the position just by asking that question.

Sounds like a win-win.
