My dad was in his early 90s when I started trying to get him to stop driving after an accident. Very uncomfortable conversations. It got so bad he would hide his car AND his keys when I came to visit. When he started having blackouts I went so far as to notify the DMV and they revoked his license. Boy was he PISSED but he still kept driving. Finally got him into an assisted living facility (another HUGE battle) and he no longer “needed” to drive. At that point he let sell his car.

My mother drove till 90. Never had an accident. In the latter years we plotted routes for her with only right-hand turns as far as feasible.
