“Same age here and same concerns. No close calls but not driving all that much either due to night vision problems.”
I’ve given up night driving myself.
Too dang hard to see and oncoming bright lights blind me too badly.
“Sucks getting old!”
A couple of years ago a doctor told me that old age was when we paid for all the stuff we got away with as youngsters. I said “yeah but nobody said they were changing interest!”
A wise man once told me that we come into this world bald, toothless and crapping our pants and with luck and care we live long enough to go out the same way.
We mostly all make terrible mistakes in life that “could have been” bad. Maybe one of the “excuses” really was the reason it almost happened? Don’t give up yet. You’ve had literally, hundreds of 1000s of cases where you did the right thing, and we know that we can’t be 200% perfect all the time. You have to allow yourself the “right” to mess up once in awhile.
If it keeps happening, then I’d say self evaluate at that time, but an incident once in a great while shouldn’t be cause to give up yet. Conditions could have been jusy right (,ie other car was in blind spot- a person rips through a red light because they were distracted, or pull out in front of a other car thinkingmthey had enough time or such) that it hzppend? I think we’ve mostly all had moments like that.
Damn Ottoman got in the way again.
I’m 56. I figure I have a couple decades to go before I ultimately give up driving on the Interstate and maybe move someplace where I can walk to the stores.
What are [you] talking about?
Google "Laura Petrie".....
I know who the character is
Actually, I am dead after reading all of these posts........
Then you probably know that in the Sitcom he married her when she was 17.....
So they were married
How awful for a husband and wife to do married kind of things
Amen!!
