I’m careful around escalators, they doo look like they want to eat your feet. There was a wooden one at King’s Cross Underground Station in London that caught fire and killed a lot of folks. Fascinating how it happened, but grim.
I used to get my high heels stuck in the old wooden ones. I hated them! You had to stand on your toes or lose your shoe.
Were people trapped on the escalator? I thought you could just walk off.
Btw, just a heads up, loose, floppy handrails on escalators are also dangerous. Keep your hands on top of the rail to keep your fingers.
