I never “enjoyed” Spring Break, either. The first 4 days were spent at North Fort Lewis for ROTC spring camp. The last 4-5 days were usually spent on campus, catching up on my sleep. I think I went home twice, before going back to campus on a 400 mile Greyhound trip. The highlight was the 30 minute stop in downtown Portland at 4:30 AM.

I wouldn’t try that today.

Need you ask? That is EXACTLY why the whole “student loan” program should be abolished. The ridiculous notion that everybody needs a college “education” leads to this crap. Easy money, money easily diverted, people getting useless degrees, people spending the first two or three years of college doing remedial work that wasn’t required years ago, “studies” programs that don’t prepare you for any career. This is what happens when government steps in to make things “affordable.” It’s the never-ending story of government corruption and government ruination.

Spring Break used to be a rite of passage for COLLEGE students. This freak mob look more like dropout misfits from the hood. The very low rung of the ladder.

For a peek at the REAL best that America has to offer, watch this amazing youth orchestra performance with Tommy Shaw (Styx) a few years ago. These kids are absolutely incredible and it is thrilling to watch them play. It sounds like an adult, professional, big-city orchestra and they are all clearly having so much fun. Contrast that to the creeps in Texas and Florida this week. One thing you will notice is that the low-life demographic in Texas and Florida (regardless of color) was not performing in this orchestra.

The lyrics are really uplifting, too: Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man). I ran across this in a great post yesterday on Conservative Treehouse.

They're just hitting up places like South Beach and Myrtle Beach during Spring Break. Affluent college students are going to other places like Cancun and the Bahamas instead. I would say Martha's Vinyard but it's too cold right now.
