Need you ask? That is EXACTLY why the whole “student loan” program should be abolished. The ridiculous notion that everybody needs a college “education” leads to this crap. Easy money, money easily diverted, people getting useless degrees, people spending the first two or three years of college doing remedial work that wasn’t required years ago, “studies” programs that don’t prepare you for any career. This is what happens when government steps in to make things “affordable.” It’s the never-ending story of government corruption and government ruination.
