“Before 2023, “atmospheric rivers” were called storms.”

“Atmospheric river” is a much more descriptive and specialized term for a certain meteorological condition in this part of the country. I would think only an uneducated person would be opposed to it.

It was even better when they called these kinds of warmer storms from the tropics “The Pineapple Express”...

I had never heard the term “atmospheric river before 2023. Sounds like a brand of perfume.
