Sudan
I visited a fairly large store in Fairbanks that sold all sorts of pans and other equipment for gold finding. I actually used it in the big creek in Dawson City where public panning is permitted.
Handicapped with a broken ankle I was always very uncomfortable and failed to actually get the job done. I found no gold in my pan.
Not sure about CA, but we used to pan/sluice for gold at Crow Creek Mine in Girdwood, AK. It was fun, but we just found flakes.
When I lived up there, a guy came into my office with a huge nugget he had found while clearing land for a road. He carried it in a plastic baggie — and to protect it and him, he carried a gun not in a baggie.
Lol
Sorry, I occasionally confuse gold panning with gold digging.
Btt!
Yeah, but you did it. I was working and didn’t.
Had a friend who found a speck, though.
There is so much gold under the old Bodie, CA mine CA could become solvent, pay for the rail, make reparations, and stay in the black but the eco nuts wont let them chop the hills down to get to some of the largest gold veins in North America.
My brother and I were kayaking a river in southeastern Michigan and passed three prospectors with a small portable wash plant.
Apparently there is a very small amount of gold in that river.
Looked like a fun hobby similar to metal detecting or magnet fishing, which I do on occasion.
Don’t know about California, but I spent last week in Colorado. I had a little time to kill so I went panning and actually found a few flakes. I’ll be back out there in May and I’m gonna get a little bit more serious about it.
