I actually love it being warm or hot most of the year. The thing I’m not really used to is the extraordinary mugginess. Walking outside on a warm summer’s day is like having a hot, wet towel wrapped around my head. I suppose I’ll get used to that as I continue living down here, though.
My wife owned a classic car with no A/C when we lived in Florida. She used to go to work at 5:30 am to avoid the morning heat.
We lived in Lakeland at the time - Lakeland is not considered a “big” city. She came home from work on a Friday afternoon after taking 45 minutes to go 4 miles in 4pm heat and said, we’re outta here. We sold our house about 6 weeks before the market went into the crapper in 2006.
Her brother and his wife both have health issues dealing with cold weather that would preclude them leaving Florida, if they desired, which they do not. They both hate Trump, and I know she hates DeSantis, presumably he does also (I quit talking to them) so I do enjoy that ha ha,
