This is nothing. I used to do death penalty defense work in Oklahoma. I have a former client on death row who received a hip replacement while on death row, and while on death row awaiting his execution, he developed cancer and the state paid for surgeries, chemo and other procedures to beat the cancer so he will be healthy when and if we execute him.
No words. What a waste. Amazing story
Pure insanity isn’t it. Look at the traitor who should have been executed for treason Bradley Manning, they paid for his sex change and then B. Hussein commutes his sentence and then he is released. The largest security breach in US military history, and not only was he not executed, we had to pay for his perversions and then he’s released.
I suppose the health care for death row prisoners is to protect their health up to the moment of execution. Most die of old age, unfortunately. I expect for a lot of the criminal population the best thing that ever happened to their life expectancy was in incarceration.

My parents are both 80 and have bad knees. Part of the reason they won’t get operations is the cost. One was a teacher for a career and the other a Secretary. Worked hard and never broke the law.

Well, now, how did the injury take place?
If a pervie ends up in jail and the other (non pervie) inmates decide to make his remaining life as miserable as he has made his victims; I am in favor of that.
So, if the pervie is seriously injured, go ahead an fix him up AND SEND HIM RIGHT BACK TO HIS “FRIENDS”IN PRISON. Reboot and send him back to hospital.
Keep this up until he decides to end it all.
