Interesting interview, just finished listening. Dershowitz is crystal clear on all of the pending and promoted charges against Trump being solely political. He’s been consistent on this point for a long time.

Prior to seeing this video, I had not understood that the charges against Trump were based on an unprecedented amalgam of federal and state statutes. Since the Manhattan DA is not a federal prosecutor, and the court in which Trump might be indicted is not a federal court, this is preposterous and patently unconstitional. I have to wonder if it is not all hype, and the DA will never really bring the case. If he is indicted, I presume Trump will immediately petition for a dismissal on those bases, and appeal all the way to the NY Supreme Ct, thence to the USSC to find an honest forum.
